The essential work of CCF is that of gathering planned gifts, primarily but not exclusively for endowment, and distributing their proceeds, as intended by the donors, to benefit the work of the Church. The expression planned gift refers to any gift, large or small, whether current or deferred, whether endowed or not endowed, which is of such significance to the donor, particularly with reference to his or her estate or tax planning.

Notre Dame D'Haiti Catholic Church was originally a small mission that began at St Mary's Cathedral, where the Haitian community used to celebrate Mass, administer the sacraments as well as receiving social services. It was being administered by deceased Rev. Fr. Marcel Peloquin, a missionary of the Oblates congregation who came from Haiti to start the mission.
